The PAX 3 vape comes in at $199.99. It’s a high-end vaporizer portrayed perfectly by its luxurious design, for which you pay a high-end price tag. 

What can you vape with The PAX 3?

The PAX3 vaporizer is compatible with both dry herbs and concentrates. As standard it’s ready for use with dry herbs, however, in the box, you’ll find a concentrate insert to connect for use with extracts.

The PAX 3’s chamber holds 0.35grams of finely ground dry herbs. Unlike the basic kit, the complete kit comes with a half-pack oven lid for the micro-dosers out there. Although the half-pack oven lid can be used with both kits.

What’s The PAX 3’s heating system?

The PAX 3 features a conduction heating system. This means the herbs are heated through contact with a heat source, in this case, the surfaces of the chamber.

There are two ways to charge the PAX 3. Charging the PAX 3 via USB takes the longest at 2.5hours to fully charge. Using the PAX AC adapter is quicker, taking just 90 minutes. 

What’s the temperature range of The PAX 3?

The PAX3 vaporizer has 4 set temperature options for users to choose from between 360°F-420°F (182° C – 215° C). The presets are as follows:

• 380° F / 193° C
• 400° F / 204° C
• 420° F / 215° C

How does The PAX 3 display temperature?

Each temperature setting on the PAX 3 is represented by an individual leaf making up the PAX logo on the front of the unit. Each leaf is an LED light that’ll shine once its setting has been activated so it’s super easy to control and use the device. 

Does The PAX 3 have an auto-shutoff feature?

The PAX3 has more of an auto-cool down feature than an auto-shut-off feature. It features lip sensing technology and an accelerometer to sense when the device is being used or not. Once the device has sensed 30 seconds without use, it begins to cool down. Fear not though, it rapidly heats up as soon as it senses you using it again. 

Does The PAX 3 come with a smartphone app?

The PAX 3 no longer comes with an app specifically for Apple users. For Andriod users, the application created for PAX3 users is still available on the Andriod store, though. 

Despite the removal of the PAX 3 app from the Apple App Store, there has since been a workaround created for users to use the app. By downloading the connect browser and granting Bluetooth permissions, you’ll be able to control your PAX 3 remotely by visiting the PAX website. 

Using the app gives you complete control over temperature, increasing and decreasing it in 1-degree increments. It also allows for further customization of the device’s LED lights and haptic feedback. 

As well as this, there a 4 different heating profiles that users can select: Boost, Efficiency, Stealth, and Flavor.

How Does The Pax 3 Work?

The PAX 3, in function, is a traditional vaporizer using conduction to heat the dry herbs or concentrate inside the chamber. Once the chamber has been filled, within seconds you’ll be enjoying your next session. 

The overall experience is one of pure simplicity and convenience. The PAX3 is simple to get started with, with fast heat-up times meaning less time waiting and more time vaping. The 3500mAh Lithium-Ion battery powers the rapid heating of the chamber, vaporizing your material for the vapor to enter the vapor path toward the mouthpiece. It’s auto-draw so sit back, inhale, and enjoy. 

The Pax 3 Heating System

The PAX 3 boasts a rapid heating system. It’s one of the fastest we’ve seen. In just 22 seconds the PAX 3 can switch from off to ready to vape. The conduction heating system is intricate, expertly heating the chamber to ensure the materials inside are heated evenly. 

Loading the Pax 3

The PAX 3 is straightforward enough to load. The chamber has a magnetic lid that is easily removable to expose the chamber. Once filled, place the magnetic lid back on, and you’re ready to go! 

Turning on the Pax 3

There’s a button on the top of the PAX3 by the mouthpiece that can be used to turn on the device. Pressing this button initiates the heating process immediately. 

Setting the Temperature on the Pax 3

Using the same button allows you to easily cycle through the 4 different temperature settings. For Andriod users, you’ll also be able to use the Bluetooth app to control temperature. The app allows for much greater flexibility in temperature control. From there, the temperature is adjustable by 1-degree increments so you’ll have full control. 

Hitting The PAX 3

Once the temperature has been set, it’ll be roughly 22 seconds before it’s ready to vape. There are two mouthpieces to choose from. You’ll find the raised mouthpiece in the box, while the flat mouthpiece will be attached to the unit standardly. Using the raised mouthpiece is preferable for easier hits, however, both provide a pleasant experience. 

How's The Pax 3 Vapor Quality?

Now it’s all well and good looking great, but looks aren’t everything. Particularly in the case of a vaporizer, vapor quality is what to judge. Amazingly, the PAX 3 manages to not only lead the market aesthetically but it’s up there regarding vapor quality, too. 

The 4 different temperature settings mean it’s easy to find the best-suited vapor for you. The lowest setting focuses on flavor, the highest on cloud density, and the two in between provide a mix between the two respectively. The second-lowest would be a personal favorite, but cranking it up to the highest setting is a great way to clear the chamber at the end of a session. 

Tips for Getting the Best Vapor Quality With the Pax 3

To get the best vapor quality, a lot of importance lays within the temperature settings. You’ll want to experiment with the different settings. The temperature you choose should be influenced by the type of vapor you want, and the material you’re vaping. 

Cleaning also plays a crucial role here. Any residue within the chamber, build-up on the screen, or around the mouthpiece will negatively impact the vapor quality.

Sticking to the user-friendly nature of this vape, it’s simple and quick to clean. We’ve mentioned the areas that require attention. All you’ll need to clean them is some isopropyl alcohol and some cleaning swabs. 

Taking the unit apart can be done swiftly and easily, so you can clean each element separately. The screen can be soaked in the alcohol while the chamber and mouthpiece should be wiped clean with swabs dipped in the alcohol.

There’s no beating around the bush, the PAX3 does come with a hefty price tag for a portable vaporizer. It’s for good reason, though. The quality is phenomenal build-wise, and the vapor quality is more than enjoyable, too. You’ll be able to take it anywhere with you, and luckily, the design is stealthy enough to give you the discretion you need. 

The battery life is also a strong point. For a vaporizer of its size, with dual compatibility, a 3500mAh is almost unheard of. It charges rapidly and will support any of your on-the-go daily needs no matter how heavy your usage is.
